"I bought the paperback version of Vanabode off Amazon. I think your approach seems practical and geared towards a sane audience unlike some previous books I bought on car-living which were, to be kind, paranoid and a little delusional." Dave

"A few years ago I had to live in my car for a few weeks because money had run out and I hadn't been able to find a job in time to avoid it. I learned a little bit about how to get along. Move-in deposits for an apartment cost more than I had, and rents were high. In the last several years I've been staying here and there renting rooms, working part time jobs but still not making enough to get into a place of my own. I like to live simply. I don't like "stuff." At this point in my life having more than a couple of suitcases of clothes and small things is more than I want to take care of or drag around. I have a cat. Right now I only have a 2003 VW Jetta sedan - money is an obstacle to a van, but I'm keeping my eyes open for opportunities to get one. $775 a month comes in regularly from early social security retirement - I'm 63 (last week), an aging hippie you might say. I love the road and the time I've spent on it going to music festivals, etc. I'm not much of a city person; I like the outdoors, peace and quiet and especially FRESH AIR and freedom! Freedom is very important to me. Thank you" Mary

"I made the decision to live in a van while going to community college because I simply cannot afford to commute the 55 miles everyday. I really like your websiteand book. I admire you for what you have done. I am going to community college this next year to be a professional aircraft mechanic and I think that it would be a splendid way to make the transition from Oklahoma to Columbia, South Carolina when I graduate. I think that I will go down first, get a job and get a home established, and then move the wife down. I am 43 and all of our children are grown. We both like to camp and if for no other reason than to cut down on the expense of making long trips and vacationing van camping is very appealing to us both. Thanks for the entertainment and the inspiration." Hudson in Oklahoma

"Hi Jason, I bought your ebook on vanaboding and am now vanaboding with my husband. We have been on the road for 6 months! Cheers and happy travels." Laura

"Dear Jason, I just read most of the stuff on your website and ordered your book. Please add me to your email update list. Hubby and I will be retiring in Feb. and want to get on the road. Thanks in advance for your help! UPDATE: Finished building out the van. All set to get on the road in February. Thanks." Bonnie Joyce

"Hi Jason; I purchased your Vanabode book back in January (both Kindle & paperback versions, and you emailed me a version). Like most of your readers it has changed my life in the six or seven weeks since its purchase, I have acquired just about everything I need from your inventory list with the exception of the mattress and the van which I'm currently working on. Just wanted to mention what I did was every time I wanted to buy something I would ask myself do I really need this? And then I would take the amount I was going to spend and go to some other part of the store and spend the same amount on something from the Vanabode inventory list. I didn't even realize it but in this short amount of time I now have everything. Almost everything came from Home Depot ( exact same coolers and the best price anywhere even beat Walmart where I purchases most everything else. Sometimes I would order off Amazon and use their free shipping to locate items you specifically recommended and I couldn't find locally. Anyways your my hero, my chains are beginning to get looser...I wanted to make sure I was on you Vanabode mailing list. Anyways thank you so much for your valuable time and attention Jason I hope you are someplace really cool having lot's of fun. Let me now if I can pry a copy of the new book from your hands! I still owe you and your wife a steak dinner somewhere down the road. 14 months to Freedom and counting down..." Thomas Schilz, Juneau Alaska

"Thanks for the new ideas with your quick response. The trip we took to New York turned out to be a good one. I did scope out the available vanning sites. New York as you know has about 96% of their public parking as valet parking only. Two of the self park places are the Museum of natural history on the east side of Central park, and the Metro art theater on the east side of central park. I did ask and they do allow extended vans but for an upcharge. We actually parked on the street at W 80th. It is difficult but possible to park on the streets. Getting ready for a 3 week stay in Florida and looking forward to it. Probably last trip in this van. To get a newer one next year. Think I'm going to follow your ideas very closely. I have been fishing and vanning in the Florida Keys for about 3 weeks per year. I have fallen in love with the crystal clear waters, fishing, kayaking, marine life in the lower Keys. We have met friends down there, I am almost 59, and I hope to spend more time there as I near semi-retirement plus traveling the country for the first time. Great book and very helpful by the way." M. Gigliotti

"Hi Jason, I'd like to be on your mailing list as I've really enjoyed your book - read it straight thru in one night. I'm currently full timing in a 1997 Airstream B190 van conversion, started August 1 and don't have an end date. The idea of stealth camping is great. I think I'll try putting some company magnetic signs on both doors of my van as it looks pretty rv-ish with the high roofline. My travel companion is a 130 lb Anatolian Shepherd so I have removed the passenger seat to give him some more room. I love the Bvan and find it plenty big enough for me and the dog. Keep up the good work!" Diane

"j - This book has totally taken over my mind for the last two days and I hope I am never the same. Loved the book, I even did an amazon review, my first one ever - I am hooked." ML
