Las Vegas Poker

Poker is one of the top drawing games in Las Vegas mainly due to the advent of "poker on TV". It is one of many ways I earn money for our travels. With big money behind the viewing of the game and the feeling that anyone can win, you can't keep the game from growing. Rules have changed too. Back in 2000-2002 the poker rooms in Mississippi learned their lesson with many of them closing because the rake was just too high. I know I was there but at the time I played Blackjack for comps and cash via card counting. Month after month there were less and less players and nobody could figure out WHY. Well the rake just robbed the players of their bankrolls and made the game unplayable long term.

They actually closed all the poker rooms in many of the casinos for a few years when they were actually ahead of Vegas at one point. That is no longer the case. Everybody is making money on Poker rooms these days including players.

That's right. Outside of a few specialized situations like card counting or cheating or bankable slots players could never win in the long run. They could have a lot of fun in a casino and they could win big sometimes.

But never could a player win in the long run, consistently over and over, until now. Enter Las Vegas Poker.

With poker backed by massive television advertising it was never going to be stopped. It is also considered a morally "clean" game because it is based on skill rather than games based on luck operating against unbeatable house odds like Blackjack or Pai Gow. Now players can find a game, tournament or televised poker show being filmed in Vegas nearly every day at one casino or another. Some poker rooms operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week with most having a set daily tournamanet you can enter with as little as $25.

Just like other games in Vegas you can get comps too for your time at the Las Vegas poker table. This is nice because most people will play for 3-8 hours a day and love every minute of it. By playing conservatively you can win other players money and you can earn enough every day to buy lunch with your casino comp points. Fun, clean, upbeat non-smoking poker rooms with table side dinner service make this game truly special. I mean you can't eat a big sloppy hot sandwich at the blackjack table can you? Well at poker tables you can eat and drink your heart out.
