This page from my master list of all Las Vegas articles I wrote while developing Vanabode as the best travel vehicle for cheap easy long term road trips.

Las Vegas Paiute Golf

Las Vegas Paiute Golf resort has 3 courses, 54 holes in all, and is one of the top North Las Vegas golf courses. The courses at Paiute include Snow Mountain, Wolf and Sun Mountain. Sun Mountain Golf Course, which gets the most golfers with its blue lakes and Joshua trees, is the also most scenic.

Sun Mountain was the first course built at Paiute Golf Course. Sun Mountain is popular with groups. I recommend you think of planning your next tournament here. It is also the course without the usual Peter Dye scorecard savagery. Snow Mountain and Wolf are difficult and challenging courses, typical of their creator, Peter Dye.

Paiute golf fees include green fee, unlimited range balls and a golfing cart with Pro Link GPS system. You can rent Callaway clubs, steel or graphite, for around $60. Ride-alongs cost about $20 per person. Note – your guest must be dressed appropriately. Paiute is a well-priced golf course with a great golf experience.

Locals can get 20% off, provided you are a fireman or in the military, or school teacher. Be prepared to show ID. Locals only have to reserve 7 days in advance. I am not sure why, but out-of-towners must reserve 60 days in advance. My recommendation is to go to Paiute with a local friend. The terms look a lot better.

Everything is in dazzling condition on Paiute Golf Course. Holes 16, 17 and 18 wrap around water. Hole-17 is a par-5 that can wreck your scorecard every time. As you play, notice as I did the superb views of Las Vegas. Even though you are 30 miles north of Las Vegas, you are in a very special place.

It is simple to get there, take the I-95 North and exit Nu-Waiv Kaiv. The exit is named for the Indian mountain Nu-Waiv Kaiv, or Snow Mountain. Nu-Waiv Kaiv is the mountain the course is built around. These are Indian lands. The benefit for you, is, in the summer, the grasses never turn brown, since the Paiute have more water available than regular Las Vegas courses. The difference is, Las Vegas courses can not own their own water wells, but the Paiute are allowed to. Consequently they have 3 wells to use for watering, and you will see grasses that are not usually used on other golf courses.Get a golf package in Las Vegas and make this part of your Las Vegas experience. Experience Dye’s trademarked railroad tie-bunkers around each manicured green. Lush, rye grass fairways and fescue in the rough meanderings from the abundance of water serve to make this a more original experience. Snow Mountain has been rated by Golf Digest as the best public golf course. The best months to play are September and October.

You will be astonished by the flowers, the mountains and the greens at Paiute Golf Resort. Paiute also has a 50,000 square foot clubhouse. Take the time to enjoy a drink in the clubhouse beneath the 3-story windows. It surely will give you a sense of sense of wonder.

Paiute has an outstanding bar and grill, with fresh food and chef specials skillfully prepared at great prices. There is even a cigar bar. Plan on having your next tournament here. Or simply come to Las Vegas and take advantage of some of the great stay and play packages for Las Vegas Paiute Golf.
