Laughlin Nevada

Laughlin Nevada - rv camping, hotel, Colorado River, Bullhead City, Arizona. Laughlin sits at Nevada's southern tip on the Colorado River where Nevada, California and Arizona meet. It is a fast-growing tourist destination with hotel/casinos providing over 10,000 rooms and 60 restaurants. Laughlin attracts nearly five million visitors a year. Bullhead City is across the river from Laughlin where shuttle boats transport customers from the Arizona side of the river to Laughlin's casinos and resorts. Bullhead City has a Sam's Club on US 95 right across the Laughlin Bridge. Sam's Club has diesel and the clearance is high enough for an RV with a kayak on top. There is free, big space overnight parking at all casinos and also in some open parking lots for motorhomes.

The Davis Dam was designed to control flash floods and generate hydroelectric power to the Southwest. Water activities on the Colorado River include boating, fishing, water skiing, and jet skiing, as well as dinner cruises and scenic tours. Davis Camp is located on the Colorado River in Bullhead City, Arizona between Davis Dam and Laughlin Bridge. It provides full hook-ups, partial hook-ups, and dry camping.

The RV parks in Las Vegas do not even compare to the serenity found here. But then again the Las Vegas Strip is one of a kind too. Most of the casinos have some type of oversize parking but it is usually in their back parking lot. It is best if you take the time to call some of the hotel/casinos like Paris and Bally's and ask how to get to their parking lot for oversized vehicles as it can be a little tricky.

Jason's thoughts - I personally think this is one of the best cheap places to camp in the United States. Hot and dry in the summer but there is the crystal clear waters of the Colorado River to swim in 30 feet from your RV. A mile away are ten plus really good home-grown style casinos with very-good-for-the-money buffets, little shows, and views that beat most casinos in Vegas. The mountains, the river, the skies can all be seen from these casinos whereas the ones in Vegas don't have windows. Where else can you stay waterfront for $350 a month including electric, water, and sewage.
We heard a guy say, "Ha-rah's is my favorite casino."

Kelly's thoughts - I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Davis Camp in Bullhead City. It was so quiet at night and a terrific start to the day seeing the Colorado River right in front of our RV. Every morning there would be people fishing in the river catching really big fish. For my runner friends, it is 1 1/2 miles from where the asphalt starts at the southern campground to the very end of the northern campground at the bottom of the hill. Two steep hills to run up, and plenty of picnic tables to do step-ups. One night Jason and I saw an extra large racoon as well as many rabbits. We saw a road runner while exercising one morning too. Good sighting! for Jason, he pointed out a humming bird sitting on a branch that we watched for a few minutes.
We heard someone say, "What about a Zodak?" about his boat.
