New Bern North Carolina on $20 a dayThis is part of an 18 week, 7,532 mile, Vanabode road trip detailed in the
book from Amazon We head to New Bern North Carolinaf or bears, shopping and Indian food.
Stunning towering brick churches, some hundreds of years old, anchor most downtown streets a short walk from the waterfront park. Children play on the manicured lawns, dogs pull steadily on their leashes trying to get to the rivers edge, and tourists flow west towards quaint, crowded, downtown shops and eateries. Above: Everywhere we look wierd bears pop out. Bay leaf is a very clean Indian restaurant that I highly recommend.
The service is fast. The aromatic food is tasty, hot, and delicious. I
eat chicken tika masala, fresh hot naan served table side, tandoori oven
baked chicken, salads, vegetarian dishes, six different chutneys, and
two great desserts. Cool bay breezes blow five blocks inland as we shop and explore eclectic locals only art galleries, church gardens, brick walled monuments, and dimly lit gift shops linked arm in arm down long wide streets. Parking is free so be don’t have to rush.
There are alot of bears in this New Bern. For thousands of unforgettable experiences on this affordable
