Up the road we stop at the huge Sturgis library and buy eight hardback full color books for six dollars total. We stop and stroll through various art galleries and antique shops on our way to a small crafts fair in Sandwich Massachusetts. Then we take in an extraordinary flooded coastal plains area, conquered by a town full of volunteers, called the Sandwich Boardwalk.

Above: Florida does not have a boardwalk like this anywhere in the state. In fact I have never seen one like this anywhere. The boardwalk has no railing. When people misstep they fall four to five feet down into sawgrass or sandy dunes. Beware.
